A Bulletin on Community Healthcare & Hygiene
Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It primarily affects the lungs but can also impact other parts of the body.
A cleft lip and palate are birth defects that occur when a baby’s lip or mouth does not form properly during pregnancy. A cleft lip is a gap or split in the upper lip, while a cleft palate is a gap in the roof of the mouth.
To prevent tuberculosis, get vaccinated, maintain sufficient ventilation, and use masks. Treatment consists of taking antibiotics under supervision
Treatment typically involves surgery to repair the cleft and may include speech therapy and dental care to address associated issues.
As your doctor, I strongly advise prioritizing preventive care to maintain your health. Regular check-ups, healthy lifestyle choices, and adherence to treatment plans are crucial. Be proactive in advocating for yourself by asking questions and staying informed about your health. Remember to build a support network, practice self-care, and monitor your health closely. It’s also important to discuss advance care planning with loved ones and seek professional help for any health concerns promptly. Your well-being is our priority, so let’s work together to keep you healthy and thriving.
